Scofti
A sunny newsstand on a city street. Chief, a toy man with swept blond hair, a dark suit and a long red tie, grins as he lifts a big red rubber stamp over a newspaper with the headline AI STOCKS RALLY, saying "Very bad name. Tremendous inaccuracy." Next to the rack, Al, a toy with a big pearly rainbow-sheen head, a red cape and a gold SI badge, reads the same paper and says, without looking up, "It still says 'AI' on my birth certificate."

Thank You for Your Attention to This Matter

Two letters, one newspaper, and a promised ban.

The government was told to stop saying AI. Now the president wants everyone else to stop too.

  1. September 29. Trump renames AI "Super Intelligence" by order. It covers the executive branch only.

  2. October 8. Anyone who says "Artificial Intelligence" is "THE ENEMY!" (Anadolu).

  3. October 17. The US pushes the IMF to say "super intelligence." The IMF says "advanced intelligence technologies" (Reuters).

  4. October 27. "When will The Wall Street Journal start calling Artificial Intelligence (AI), a very bad and inaccurate name, SI (Super Intelligence)… In short order, we will be officially BANNING the term" (Truth Social).

  5. Same day. Asked how a word gets banned under the First Amendment, the White House says: "Refer to the truth" (HuffPost).

The Wall Street Journal is not in the executive branch.
