The weather line on the home page

It needs a rough idea of where you are, and it never sees your IP address. Vercel, the host, turns that into approximate coordinates before any of my code runs. My code only ever gets the coordinates.

Those go to Open-Meteo from the server, not from your browser — that is what proxied means. They see a machine in a data centre, not you. The forecast is held ten minutes, here and in your browser, so a reload does not fetch it twice. Then it is gone.

Nothing about the forecast is kept here. No database, no file, no log.

Counting visits

The pages of this site load Google Analytics. It puts a cookie in your browser, gives that browser a random identifier, and tells Google which pages you opened, roughly where in the world you are, and what device and browser you used. I never learn your name, because I never ask for one.

I see totals. Google holds the underlying records, on their terms rather than mine. It is tracking, and calling it anything softer would be untrue.

It does not run while the site is being built, only on the live one.

ScofTV

Nothing loads from YouTube until you pick a show. Until then the page is a list of names and no request has left for Google.

Pick one and that changes: the video plays inside a frame served by Google, on their no-cookie domain, and what happens inside it is theirs rather than mine. Pressing Stop removes the frame, and picking another show removes the one before it.

The jukebox

Nothing loads until you press a strip. Until then the page is a list of codes and no request has left for anyone.

What happens next depends on what the slot holds.

A recorded show streams from the Internet Archive, which serves the file and sees the request.

A live station streams from the station, through that same player. WTED Goose Radio and JEMP Radio are carried by radio.co, and GD Radio.net by centova.rockhost.com, so whichever you press, that host serves the audio and sees the request.

Nothing is hosted here and nothing is stored here. Pressing Stop ends it.

The arcade

Nothing runs until you press a game. Until then the page shows each game's cover and nothing more. The games are served from this site's own address and load nothing from anyone else.

Unsafe Release keeps two things in your browser: your best score, and whether you muted it. Void Signal keeps three: your best score, whether you muted it, and the last pilot you picked. None of it is ever sent anywhere, and clearing this site's data from your browser forgets it.

The contact form

What you type goes to the server, is handed to Resend to deliver as an email, and is not stored here. Your address is used to reply to you and nothing else. It is never added to a list, because there is no list.

Two things I cannot speak for

I can tell you what this site's code does, because I wrote it. I cannot tell you what the companies underneath it do.

Vercel serves these pages and keeps its own request records, on its terms, not mine. Google decides what happens inside a YouTube frame once you press play, and holds whatever Analytics records about your visit. The Internet Archive serves the recorded shows in the jukebox, and radio.co and centova.rockhost.com serve the live stations, each keeping its own records on its own terms. Those are real, and saying "nothing is collected" without them would be untrue.
