A new name for the technology, and a report card for everything else.

On Tuesday, artificial intelligence was renamed by executive order. On Thursday, the administration that renamed it got an A+ from the man who runs it.

  1. Tuesday, September 29. Trump signed "Inaugurating The Era Of Super Intelligence." The executive branch "shall use the terms 'Super Intelligence' and 'SI' in place of 'Artificial Intelligence' and 'AI' and will not acknowledge the usage of 'Artificial Intelligence' and 'AI' in any applicable setting." What the new name covers, under the same order: the technologies "encompassed by the term 'artificial intelligence'" as already defined in federal law (the order). He had announced it a week earlier at the UN General Assembly: "hereinafter called super intelligence. Changing the name" (The Hill).

  2. Thursday, October 1. "I give us an A+ on the government, on economics, on everything" (Al Jazeera). In an AP-NORC poll taken September 24 to 28 and released that week, 26% of US adults approved of his handling of the economy, a new low (AP).
