Your Water Is Important to Us

27OctoberTuesdayTear-OffsA sunny small-town kitchen. Out the window, a big grey data center on the hill drinks from the town water tower through a giant red-and-white straw. At the sink, a mother holds a glass under the tap, which gives one drip under a little loading circle. Her young son looks up at it and says, "Mom, the faucet's buffering." She says, "It's thinking." Clyde, a little toy with an orange sunburst head, sits on the counter reading a phone and says, "You're number 4,112 in the queue." On the windowsill, a wilting plant is hooked to a drip bag, and its tube runs out the window and up the hill to the data center.
