Outside the glass doors of a sleek office with a NOW HIRING sign, a chickadee in round wire spectacles sits on a stack of books at a desk with a clipboard and asks, "And why do you want to work here?" A grinning man leaning on the desk with his resume says, "I read the part about the honey pots." Behind him a line of eager men stretches down the block and all the way to the bay: one fixing his hair, one holding red roses, one in a tuxedo, an old man in a cardigan, one doing push-ups, all holding resumes. Across the sidewalk at a cafe table, a woman with long brown hair in a white SCOFTI crop top and sequin skirt and a blond woman in a pink cardigan holding Champagne watch the line and smile.
